And today, I’m showing you how to make my clean and delicious No-Bake Oatmeal Energy Balls. This is a very tasty, easy recipe to make that is perfect when you want a little something sweet in the morning or the afternoon.
They also make a great pre or post-workout snack, and they even work for breakfast when you’re in a pitch. Also, if you have any little ones at home, this is the perfect recipe to get them in the kitchen because there are no knives, no baking, no cooking. It’s just dumpster and roll.
So into a nice big bowl, I will combine one cup of old-fashioned rolled oats. Oatmeal is an ingredient that I recommend buying organic whenever possible. You could get away with quick oats if that’s what you have.
No-Bake Oatmeal Energy Balls Ingredients
Here are the No-Bake Oatmeal Energy Balls ingredients you need to make this delicious recipe.
- 1 cup oats, rolled
- 1/2 cup flax seed meal (also known as flax seeds ground)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (crunchy)
- a third cup of honey
- a teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips, mini
- In a medium-sized mixing basin, combine all ingredients and stir thoroughly.
- Roll roughly 1 tablespoon of dough between your palms to make a small bowl. Refrigerate or freeze for one hour after placing on a dish or a rimmed baking sheet. Enjoy!
- I normally store them in an airtight jar in the fridge for three weeks.
- This recipe makes 20 balls.
No-Bake Oatmeal Energy Balls Recipe Procedures
But steel-cut oats will not work for this recipe, so I have half a cup of ground-up flaxseeds. This is a great plant-based Omega three fatty acids source—half a cup of all-natural peanut butter.
Now make sure that the only ingredient listed is peanuts and maybe some salt if you like salted peanut butter, which I’m using today. It’s also much easier to work with when it’s at room temperature, so that’s a little note to keep in your back pocket.

And of course, if you don’t have peanut butter, you could use any nut or seed butter that you have on hand or that you prefer. Then I have three cups of honey, which could also be Maple syrup or any liquid sweetener that you like to use—a teaspoon of vanilla extracts and then half a cup of mini chocolate chips.
Finally, if you wanted to pull back on the sugar a little bit, you could buy a brand like Lily’s Chocolate sweetened with stevia.
Then all I have to do is mix it all. You want to get everything well combined until you have a nice thick batter as I have here. And you’re going to see that when you pinch it between your fingers, it sticks together.
Then from here, I’m just going to form them into little bite-sized energy balls. So what I do is grab a small room speaking sheet.
You don’t need to spray it down or anything. They’re not going to stick and scoop up about a teaspoon of the dough. So I drop it into my palm, squish it together a bit, and then roll it just like I would roll a meatball.
So that’s what it’s going to look like when it’s done. It’s going to be a little bit smaller than a golf ball. You’re going to end up with anywhere between 16 to 20 energy balls. So I’m just going to place that on the baking sheet and continue; I worked through all the dough.
Now what I like to do from here is pop them in the fridge, let them chill, and set up. They store better once they’re cold. You need to leave them in there for about an hour or so, and then I transfer them into an airtight container where they will happily live in the fridge for weeks.
And if you wanted to make them go the long haul, you could also store them in the freezer. I love these energy balls so much because they’re like granola bars but bite-sized and made from scratch with love.
